The site is situated some 2 miles or so inland from the university and market town of Aberystwyth abutting the Glanyrafon Industrial estate. Extraction is limited to four months of year during March to April and September to October to comply with conditions. There is an obligation to restore the site but there is enormous potential for use as fishing or boating lake subject to the necessary consent being obtained.
