ENTRY – 3736

 

A large entry resulted in a total clearance of the breeding and killing ewes, store & ewe lambs. There was strong competition throughout with many buyers in attendance. The ram trade was much more selective with only the best types selling well due to the large selection on offer. We would like to thank all our vendors for the support for the Ram sale which proved popular again this year.


Breeding Ewes (684) – Max - £108.00 from Humphries, Brynernest, Bryncrug. Average £46.35.


Breeding Brokers (580) – Max - £60.00 from Rees, Penmaenbach, Pennal. Average £33.48.


Ewe Lambs (137) – Max - £90.00 from Humphries, Brynernest, Bryncrug.. Average £63.23.


Store Lambs (1215) – Max £96.00 from Last, Wernddu, Cribyn. Average £46.50.


Whether Lambs (34) – Max - £40.00 from Jones, Abercwmdolau. Average £33.41.

 

Brokers/ killers (968 ) – Max £89.00 from Rees, Goitre, Llanarth. Average £37.55.

 

Killing Rams (3) – Max - £84.00 from Jones, Hendy Farm, Tywyn. Average £59.00.

 

4th Annual Ram Sale.

With an entry of 221 rams of a large mixed selection. This sale was very well supported by our local and regular farmers.

 

Top Price ram went to Lot 1044 Mr Lloyd, Water St of £525 Guinness for a New Radnor yearling ram sold to Davies Family, Llety Ifan Hen, Bontgoch. Followed closely by Mr Evans of Lower House Farm, Knighton £483 Guinness for Lot 1059B for a Crossing Blue yearling ram sold to Watkin, Henllys. Mr Evans of Brynawel also came within the top 5 with £462 Guinness with Lot 1137 for the 3yr Welsh ram also gaining 3rd in the Hill bred class sold to Mr James Carmarthen.
