a listed detached property in the scenic Llyfnant Valley on the Ceredigion Montgomeryshire border comprising a 3 bedroomed traditional house together with large garden
Glanafon as the name implies abuts the river Llyfnant in a picture postcard setting close to the Ceredigion Montgomeryshire boundary. Glanafon is a Grade 2 (voluntary) listed property. We believe Glanafon was once two dwellings which were utilised as Tea rooms during the Victorian era. The property has been well cared for by the vendors and is well worthy of inspection, as are the delightful grounds which borders the river and are in fact intersected by a small tributary of the river with a foot bridge across to the property.
Glanafon was withdrawn from the market in August 2017 due to unforeseen damage caused by an unprecedented blockage to the nearby bridge. Our clients can enlighten you further during your inspection.
Glanafon can be approached from a southerly direction up the beautiful Llyfnant valley from Glandyfi or for the first inspection I would suggest the more accessible route to Glaspwll (signposted) which is just north of the village of Derwenlas, a mile to the south of Machynlleth.
Machynlleth is often referred to as the 'Gateway to Wales' having a large number of interesting local retailers and a weekly market. The university and market town of Aberystwyth is some 20 miles or so travelling distance to the south. The town having major employers such as the University, National Library of Wales and Bronglais hospital in addition to many cultural activities.
The RSPB nature reserve at Ynyshir and the coastal villages of Borth and Aberdyfi are also within a relatively short travelling distance.
Mains electricity. Private water and drainage. Heating by means of night storage heaters. Fibre broadband is available. Mains wired smoke detectors.

Take the 2nd turning left (sharp bend) turning right at the T junction to Glaspwll and Glanafon is the first property on the right hand side just after the bridge. OS Grid ref: SH73929751
