There are several alternate routes to Ffair Rhos but we suggest the following for the first inspection. From Aberystwyth proceed south on the A487 coastal trunk road to Southgate, turn left onto the A4120 Devils Bridge road and turn immediately right onto the B4340 Pontrhydfendigaid road. Proceed through the villages of New cross, Abermagwr and Ystrad Meurig to Pontrhydfendigaid taking the first turning left at the village onto B4343 road proceed for a mile or so, turning right at the cross roads to Ffair Rhos and Ty Cefn is set back from the road, painted dark blue after approximately 300 metres.
